ApplyKit is a Chrome extension that helps users track job applications by automatically capturing application data when they apply through supported job sites. This privacy policy explains how ApplyKit handles user data.
ApplyKit stores all application data—including job titles, company names, application status, notes, dates, and URLs—locally on the user's device using Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data is never transmitted to any server, third party, or external service.
ApplyKit's content scripts run only on the specific job sites it supports. As of this version, those are:
On these sites only, ApplyKit listens for clicks on Apply / Submit Application buttons and reads visible page metadata (job title, company name, posted URL). This data is stored locally on the user's device and not transmitted anywhere.
The free version of ApplyKit makes zero network requests of its own. No analytics, no telemetry, no external API calls.
The Pro version validates the user's license periodically (approximately once per month) by sending the following to ApplyKit's license server:
The license server stores only the license key and activation count. No application data, browsing history, or personally identifiable information is ever transmitted.
ApplyKit does not share user data with third parties. Even for Pro users, the license server receives only the license key and install identifier described above—nothing about your job applications, the sites you visit, or who you are.
If you have both ApplyKit and ReplyKit installed, ApplyKit writes the company name and job role from your most recent application to a session-scoped storage area that ReplyKit can read. This allows ReplyKit's templates to auto-fill these values when you write follow-up messages.
The shared data is limited to company name and role only, never includes application status, notes, or any other tracked content, and is cleared when you close Chrome. If you do not have ReplyKit installed, no shared data is written.
Users have full control over their data:
ApplyKit requests the following Chrome permissions, all used for the core functionality of the extension:
ApplyKit does not request blanket access to all websites. Host permissions are narrowly scoped to the supported job sites listed above.
